 Pharmaceutical Drug Promotion and Consumers: Report of a Preliminary Survey of Stakeholders
The study on pharmaceutical promotions is relevant in the context of various anomalies in the pharmaceutical sector: Expenditure on drugs (outpatient) is the second largest reason for indebtedness. (b) There are a large number of irrational combinations in the top selling 300 drugs. (c) There is a great variation in cost of drugs. The Citizen, Consumer and Civic Action Group (CAG), Chennai undertook a study looking primarily at the promotional chain of drugs and diagnostics at various levels.
